Biew Kiew - Longan

 

This variety is from Thailand is well suited to the sub tropics where it receives cooler winters. It is a heavy consistent cropper with good quality fruits that come off later in the season than the Kohala. A close relative to the Lychee tree but much larger, stronger and more cold tolerant. The fruit is deliciously sweet keep the fruit in the refrigerator before serving this delicious fruit or right off of the tree. This skin of the fruit is more of a lighter brown and it has very small seed inside. This Fruit is also known as the, "Dragon Eye".
