Mun Kun SI Mango
Mango from Thailand, similar to Nam Doc Mai but much bigger, eaten both green (sweet, crispy) and ripe (when yellow). This is a rare variety, very popular among Thai and Vietnamese people. The fruit are extremely sweet, fiberless and somewhat crunchy ("Mun" means crunchy). The fruit are elongated, hang in clusters, and turn yellow when ready to pick. It is a very late producer, fruit may still be on a tree as late as January.
Keo Savoy Mango
If you like green mangoes, you will love this one! As with many Thai mangoes, this variety must be eaten green to fully enjoy its unique apple-like qualities. It has a crunchy, crisp texture with a pleasantly tart taste. Pick when the fruit are full-sized and green, before they ripen. This fruit has very little fiber if not any at all. Number two on the list for best flavor and amora.
Pim Saen Mun Mango
Native to Southeast Asia, Pim Saen Mun is highly regarded for its smooth texture, pleasant aroma, and sweet flavor. This fruit has flowery smell that would stay in you mouth after very bit and you will continue to eat one slice after another. The trees are large vigorous growers and prolific producers of half pound fruit that are pink and yellow when ripe. The fruit is best eaten fully ripe out of hand after being chilled, and they are typically harvested in July. This fruit is the top three mango in the Southeast Asia.
Nam Doc Mai Mango
Nam Doc Mai is a premium cultivar introduced to Florida from Thailand in 1973. It is hands down the most sought after of the Asian mangos and for good reason. This fruit is very sour when it is not full ripen, but once it is harvest season you will love the sweet flavor. Highly recommended serving this tasty fruit with white steam rice or sticky rice. The fruit is firm, sweet, aromatic, completely fiberless, and is born on a tree suitable to a small backyard. The fruit ripens from June to July.
Valencia Pride
This fruit can be eaten green or ripen. The flesh is sweet, aromatic, firm, and fiberless. The tree is a vigorous large grower making it an excellent shade tree complemented by an exceptionally attractive fruit. It has one of the finest flavors of all of the late season varieties and it never disappoints. The fruit ripens July to August. This fruit is very popular among the Orientals because of the flowery aroma.
